Bee Happy

Penny keeps bees on her roof. Desperate to escape during a house party, she persuades her young friend Ben to join her for drinks, gossip and a few home truths up on the roof. But things aren’t all that they seem, with Penny’s son missing – presumed dead – she’s tried to mould Ben to fit her son shaped hole – but what happens when your friendship is put on the line?

Bee Happy is a darkly comic two-handler about bees, intergenerational buddies and bad behaviour.

It was a performed script-in-hand and rehearsed and performed in a week. It marks the first collaboration between Tom and director Abigail Pickard Price.

Bee Happy was first performed as part of The Rooftop Sessions, at the Old Red Lion, London on 11th September 2016.
